I have some things to say. Real photographers know how to use auto modes. They know how to use af. Raw is for when you did something wrong, but real photographers prefere safe over sorry, if you need to use raw to get an acceptable picture, that does not make you a real photographer. People who know something about techniques dont need a screen to look back at pictures, but when you need it, use it. What makes film holy, real photographers use paint and brushes?? The ony thing that changed sinse internet and digital, is that photographers are more hatefull to other photographers. I just started again, i reached out but got nothing but hatefull remarks, at least i now dont have to feel sorrow for giving my pictures for free to other photographers clients. Vic geurts

Curious why you did a comparison (at the 9:34 mark) by using 240 mp as in a laboratory situation when 99.9% of users don't shoot in a lab? I get that it will show the minute differences but why not also show a real world image scenario?

YT, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft etc. all the biggest ones maximised greed. There are so many total bs channels popping up, absolutely rubbish content, getting 0.5 to 1 million subscribers within a few weeks, as it looks to me totally A.I. generated, each video millions of views. I’m suspecting that are all YT own channels, redirecting the viewers away from the real creators to themselves and of course the connected revenues.

Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.

I feel like you guys let it get to you when people give you negative comments but who cares you guys are obviously one of the top camera channels and you obviously know what you’re doing.

The film comparison is lacking. Even in the 70's there was an indie scene for filmmaking.

Samyang/Rokinon has also a 35-150 f2-2.8 buts its cheaper AND its parfocal which tamron isnt. a head to head of these would be nice to see!

Maybe RUclips shouldn't have de-monetized me over making highlights OF MY OWN CONTENT At least Rumble lets me monetize & make content right off the bat.

no way. Canon is DONE if these are the specs. Megapixals do count. Especially in sports where you need to digitally re-frame and push in from time to time. I''ve never needed such fast auto focus or a burst rate a a billion frames a second to catch the moment. I get that it's hard to design a sensor in that form factor that can compete with a high MP count like fuji but come on Canon. Do better

Thanks for sharing. I too have noticed the decline in views, subscribers and revenue both from my end and larger channels. That being said, even though it's a love/hate relationship, I still love RUclips and creating content 🙂

8:04 "They both support pre-release..." I'm not sure that the R3 supports this (yet). Even with the latest firmware (as of 2024-05) I can't do pre-recording with my R3.

I lookied into youtube since 2006 and have done digfital video even before that. In 2009 I specificly bought an EOS 7D with Full HD video recording function. I have done some tests, but quickly figured out, that the amount of time investment I would need to do, barely would pay off and either way I would end in some kind of a burnout. "Let's Plays" were growing. Also I am from Germany, there are some differences. Like school and university is free. Public libraries are nearly free (10 Euros or less for a year, no fees on books or DVDs and so on). And I live in Berlin. At this point in time photographers with rise of digital cameras were in communities and had their weekly or monthly meetings. We also have a lot of clubs. So even without youtube and or skillshare, there is a lot you can do for education or meeting people with the same interest. And when some had the wish to become "a youtuber", it was already "too late". Also in Germany with permissions, media rights and taxes it is much harder to do it for money. I also figured out, if you have a nieche, you can do it for you, but don't expect any money out of it. Also I guess, it is somehow like a TV series, where after a couple of seasons it is over. Myspace is different, Facebook is not in use by the same people like before, the audience is out-growing and has families or other stuff to do. I spend a lot of my youth on the computer, now I try to do anything but 🙃 I also think, that there will be a shift, especialy with A.I., that the internet will be not as personal, but the physical world will need more real humans and 1:1 conversations. Tony, ... basically Canon isn't letting these companies do anything other than invest money into lenses Canon isn't investing in!! Basically a way of trying to increase sales of their APS-C camera's for free, instead of innovating their lower-end cameras... this seems to be far more insidious than it at-first appears...

...most amateur designers break some of the basic design rules when designing so the end result is always suboptimal ("off"). I wonder if this generative tools will make up for their mistakes since the AI trining material was probably made by professionals and incomporates good design choices by default or will the end results be equally bad since (amateur) designer is the ones who ultimately make the decisions...:)

It also matters what the intent is. If you are presenting "A" pretty house, it's okaysubtract to add or subtact to make a pretty house. If you are presenting "Mrs. Smith's" house and you clone out all the rotted wood and the overgrown hedges and the torn up driveway and the dead deer in the yard, that's not okay. But cropping? People are against cropping? Are they against viewfinders, too? Or moving the camera around? "No! You need to put the camera on a brick and hit the shutter release. What you get is what you get. Anything else is cheating!"

If you are falsely presenting something as an outright lie (like the flooded city - if the guy was never there) that is obviously out. But I feel 90% of the rest of people complaining is just virtue signaling out of their ignorance of photography. If you work for a place, or enter a contest, with rules; follow them. If not, make a good image.

FPS is not a big deal to me, around 30 is a sweet spot for me. less files to go though too. I just want a great pre-capture feature and great AF

I use a iPhone and a GoPro, edit on iMovie. Not a real photo/videographer.

The market was flooded with tons of photos because of smartphones and with tons of manipulated photos because of photoshop before AI. With AI it will be a million tons, so what. But there will be always special real ones, because of ideas, situations, special circumstances and so on. On Auroras in Germany everybody would have said fake last week and now. Yesterday I read, that OpenAI has made a speech to text converter in 2021. Why? because they run out of text for training their AI on websites. So they run speech to text routines on RUclips videos to get more text as training data. So it seems the existing AI concept is already seeing it's limitations. It will be hard to get better and much harder to solve the flaws. The easy market of symbol photos for articles maybe will die. But I say: Now KI has finally made it, that I look firstly on the hands of women (because they look always awkward).
